The iPhone 6 was Apple's 2014 flagship and a turning point — the model that took iPhone big. A new 4.7-inch display (with a 5.5-inch 6 Plus alongside) and a rounded, thinner aluminium design replaced the flat-edged 5S, and it went on to become the best-selling iPhone ever.
It debuted NFC and Apple Pay, ran on the A8 chip, and added Focus Pixels phase-detection autofocus to the 8MP camera. Touch ID, a 3.5mm jack and Lightning all carry over.
It was succeeded by the 6S. As the phone that set the modern iPhone size template, the 6 is a landmark. Launched at about $649.
