The iPhone 6S was Apple's 2015 flagship and a substantial 'S' upgrade. It added 3D Touch — a pressure-sensitive display with Taptic Engine haptics — and jumped the camera to 12MP with 4K video and Live Photos, plus a new 5MP front camera.

A stronger 7000-series aluminium chassis answered the 6's 'Bendgate', while the A9 and second-generation Touch ID sped everything up. Rose Gold joined the lineup; the 4.7-inch LCD, 3.5mm jack and Lightning remain.

It was succeeded by the iPhone 7, which dropped the headphone jack. The 6S aged unusually well, receiving iOS updates all the way through iOS 15. Launched at about $649.
