The Apple iPhone 7 Plus is the 5.5-inch sibling of the iPhone 7, announced on September 7, 2016 and released on September 16. Its standout feature is the first dual-camera system on an iPhone: a 12 MP wide lens (f/1.8, with optical image stabilization) paired with a 12 MP telephoto lens (f/2.8). The dual setup, exclusive to the Plus, enables 2x optical zoom and a new Portrait mode that produces a depth-of-field blur effect.

Beyond the camera, the iPhone 7 Plus introduced several changes shared with the 7. The 3.5 mm headphone jack was removed in favor of Lightning audio and wireless earphones. The phone gained IP67 dust and water resistance, stereo speakers, and a non-moving, pressure-sensitive Taptic Engine home button with Touch ID. It is powered by the quad-core Apple A10 Fusion chip and ships with 3 GB of RAM, more than the standard iPhone 7.

The 5.5-inch Retina HD LCD runs at 1080 x 1920 (401 ppi) with a wide P3 color gamut and 3D Touch. Storage tiers start at 32 GB and reach 256 GB, and colors include Black, Jet Black, Silver, Gold, Rose Gold, and Product Red. It succeeds the iPhone 6S Plus and was followed by the iPhone 8 Plus.
