Apple iPhone XS / Specification

The iPhone XS was the compact pro of Apple's 2018 line — the smallest of the three, with the premium features the XR skips. Its 5.8-inch Super Retina OLED delivers the deep blacks and HDR an LCD can't, in a 177g stainless-steel-and-glass body that's the lightest of the trio.

It adds a second rear camera — a 2x telephoto alongside the 12MP wide — for optical zoom and stronger Portrait shots, all driven by the A12 Bionic. IP68 water resistance, Face ID, and dual-SIM (nano + eSIM) are all here.

The catch is battery: a smaller body holds a smaller cell, so it runs down faster than the XR or XS Max. If you wanted full pro features — OLED, dual camera, the best build — in a phone you can use one-handed, the XS was the one to get; choose the XS Max instead if screen size and battery matter more than pocketability.
