The iPhone 11 was Apple's 2019 mainstream flagship and the volume seller of its generation — the affordable counterpart to the 11 Pro. It succeeded the single-camera XR and added a second rear lens: a 12MP ultra-wide alongside the wide, plus Night mode, closing much of the gap to the Pro.
It keeps the XR's 6.1-inch Liquid Retina LCD (no OLED) and 1792×828 resolution, but steps up to the A13 Bionic and adds the U1 ultra-wideband chip. Six colours, Face ID and all-day battery made it the popular pick of 2019.
The trade-offs are the LCD panel, a 60Hz screen and a Lightning port. The iPhone 12 that followed brought OLED, a flat-edge redesign and 5G. As a cheap, dependable used iPhone the 11 still does the basics well. From about $699.
