The iPhone 13 Pro Max was Apple's 2021 large flagship and a quiet but major step forward. It brought 120Hz ProMotion to iPhone for the first time — an adaptive 10–120Hz refresh that makes scrolling noticeably smoother — alongside the largest battery jump in iPhone history, up to ~2.5 hours more video than the 12 Pro Max.

The camera gained a longer 77mm 3x telephoto, an ultra-wide with autofocus for macro photography, and a brighter main sensor, all on the A15 Bionic. It was also the first iPhone offered with 1TB of storage.

It keeps the flat-edge stainless design, the notch and a Lightning port. The next year's 14 Pro Max replaced the notch with the Dynamic Island and added a 48MP main and always-on display. For battery life and smoothness at a lower price, the 13 Pro Max is one of the best-value used Pros. From about $1,099.
