The Apple iPhone 17e is the entry-level model of the iPhone 17 lineup, announced on March 2, 2026 and released on March 11, 2026 as the successor to the iPhone 16e. It carries the Apple A19 chip (with a binned 4-core GPU) and 8 GB of RAM, ships with iOS 26 and supports Apple Intelligence. Storage starts at 256 GB, double the 128 GB base of the 16e, with a 512 GB option also available.
The 17e keeps the same chassis dimensions and front design as the iPhone 13, 14 and 16e, with a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display that uses a notch rather than the Dynamic Island, an aluminium frame, a ceramic-coated glass back and an IP68 rating. The new Ceramic Shield 2 front glass and the Action Button are added, while the Camera Control found on other iPhone 17 models is omitted. Imaging is handled by a single 48 MP Fusion rear camera with sensor-shift OIS and 2x optical-quality zoom, plus a 12 MP TrueDepth front camera for Face ID and selfies; the camera system is largely unchanged from the 16e.
Connectivity uses Apple's in-house C1X modem with 5G, though the phone is limited to Wi-Fi 6 because it lacks the N1 wireless chip used by the rest of the lineup. A 4005 mAh battery supports MagSafe and Qi2 wireless charging and reaches 50% in about 30 minutes. The iPhone 17e is offered in Soft Pink, White and Black. From about $599.
