The iPhone Air is Apple's radically thin titanium iPhone, introduced on September 9, 2025 and released on September 19. At just 5.6 mm thick (165 g), it is the thinnest iPhone ever made, and it replaces the Plus model in the 2025 lineup. It pairs a 6.5-inch LTPO Super Retina XDR OLED display with 120Hz ProMotion, always-on capability and 3000 nits peak brightness, driven by the A19 Pro chip with a 6-core CPU, 5-core GPU and 16-core Neural Engine, backed by 12 GB of RAM.
The titanium frame uses Ceramic Shield 2 on the front, and the phone is eSIM-only with no physical SIM tray. Connectivity comes from Apple's own silicon: the C1X modem and the N1 wireless chip provide Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and Thread. It carries an IP68 rating, NFC for Apple Pay, a USB-C port at USB 2.0 speeds, MagSafe and Qi 2 wireless charging, and is offered in Sky Blue, Light Gold, Cloud White and Space Black.
The thin design forces honest trade-offs. The camera system is a single 48 MP Fusion lens with no ultrawide, so there is no macro mode and no spatial photo capture; an 18 MP Center Stage front camera with a square sensor handles selfies. Audio is a mono speaker rather than stereo, and the slim chassis holds a smaller 3149 mAh battery rated for up to 27 hours of video playback. The iPhone Air takes the slot previously held by the iPhone 16 Plus. From about $999.
